Course Overview
Course Description
This course is designed for overseas-trained doctors who have passed the AMC Part 1 exam but are struggling to secure hospital job interviews in Australia.
Despite Australia’s ongoing doctor shortages, many overseas doctors find their applications repeatedly overlooked. This is rarely due to lack of ability or qualifications — it is because their CVs, cover letters, and selection criteria responses do not meet Australian hospital expectations.
Created by a Filipino-trained doctor who has:
- Passed both AMC exams in her first attempt
- Secured a successful hospital medical officer job offer within just 3 months of applying for jobs in Australia
- Worked as a hospital junior doctor in Australia
- Completed GP training under RVTS (Remote Vocational Training Scheme)
- Achieved FRACGP
- And mentored hundreds of overseas doctors since 2018
This course distils real-world, firsthand experience into a high-yield, on-demand program focused solely on hospital job applications.
If you have already passed the AMC exams (AMC 1 only or both AMC 1 and 2), this course helps you take the next crucial step — getting noticed, shortlisted, and invited for interviews.
Who This Course Is For
This course is for you if:
- You are an overseas-trained doctor applying to work in Australia
- You have passed at least AMC Part 1
- You are applying for hospital positions, including:
- Junior Medical Officer (JMO / RMO)
- Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO)
- Registrar roles
- You have submitted multiple job applications with little or no response
- You meet eligibility criteria but are unsure why you are not being shortlisted
- You want clear, practical guidance from a doctor who has successfully navigated the system
This course is not exam preparation.
It is a practical guide to presenting yourself correctly within the Australian hospital recruitment system.
Course Coverage
This course focuses on the three pillars of a successful Australian hospital application.
1. CV Writing (Australian Hospital Standard)
Your CV is the first document recruiters assess — and often determines whether the rest of your application is read.
You will learn:
- Correct Australian CV formatting for hospital roles
- What to include — and what to remove
- How to present your clinical experience clearly and professionally
- Common mistakes that cause overseas doctors’ CVs to be overlooked
- How to structure your CV so it is easy to read, scan, and shortlist
2. Cover Letter Writing (Clear, Personalised, and Purposeful)
A strong cover letter complements your CV — it does not repeat it.
You will learn:
- How to write a succinct and targeted cover letter
- What makes an effective Australian hospital cover letter
- How to personalise your letter for each role and hospital
- What hiring panels actually look for — and what they ignore
3. Answering Selection Criteria (What Secures the Interview)
Your CV captures attention.
Your selection criteria responses secure the interview.
You will learn:
- Why selection criteria are often not read if the CV is weak
- The standard structure Australian hospitals expect
- How to write clear and relevant responses
- How to avoid generic answers that weaken your application
There is a correct approach to answering selection criteria — and once you understand it, your chances of being shortlisted significantly improve.
Final Note
You are qualified.
Australia needs doctors.
This course ensures your application reflects both.
