Curriculum
Your instructor
Dr Nicole Taleon is a Filipino-trained doctor, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), and a full-time GP on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.
Her journey began in 2018, when she started work as a Resident Medical Officer at Gosford Hospital, NSW, after successfully passing AMC Part 1 and Part 2. As a newly arrived IMG navigating the Australian hospital system herself, she began informally mentoring and answering questions from overseas doctors — particularly Filipino IMGs — through online forums and Facebook groups.
Together with a fellow Filipino IMG colleague, Dr Mark, she co-founded a small private Facebook group in 2020 initially made up of just five doctors seeking close mentorship and guidance. Through word of mouth within the Filipino medical community, the group grew organically, and as of 2026, it has expanded into a supportive community of over 11,000 members helping one another navigate the Australian healthcare system.
Over the past 7 years, Dr Taleon has personally mentored hundreds of overseas-trained doctors through different stages of their Australian journey — from exam preparation to hospital job applications, interviews, and workforce integration. Many of her mentees are now successfully working across Australia in hospital and GP roles.
While working full-time as a GP, Dr Taleon continues this mentoring work out of a genuine passion to help doctors who were once in her shoes — navigating uncertainty, rejection, and unfamiliar systems while trying to build a future in Australia. What began as one-on-one mentoring evolved into group coaching and live Zoom sessions, driven by increasing demand and repeated requests for the same core teaching.
To make this guidance accessible without time, location, or capacity limits, this on-demand course was created — allowing international medical graduates anywhere in the world to access the same proven strategies anytime and at their own pace.
What sets Dr Taleon’s teaching apart is doctor-to-doctor guidance. Having personally navigated the Australian medical system, she understands both the clinical and non-clinical challenges overseas doctors face — including CV preparation, selection criteria, interviews, and adapting to Australian workplace expectations.
This course brings together her firsthand experience, practical insights, and years of proven mentoring to help international medical graduates strengthen their applications and improve their chances of securing Australian hospital positions.
